GLOBAL | July 2 What if tackling climate change could also end poverty? A UNDP study says aligning clean energy plans with development goals (health, water, education) could lift 193 million people from extreme poverty by 2060.

They compared 3 future paths and found that the “integrated pathway” (combining renewables with social progress) leads to:

  • $20.4 trillion in global savings
  • 550 million more people with clean water
  • A 21% boost in global GDP
