Kapil Dev and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 300-bed KDSG Super Speciality Hospital in Greater Noida, offering advanced, affordable, and patient-centric healthcare services across cardiology, oncology, and neurology. The hospital, founded in collaboration with Sunil Kumar Gupta and managed by DY Patil Healthcare, is expected to generate 1,000+ jobs and support the NCR region’s growing healthcare and economic infrastructure.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formally inaugurated the 300-bed KDSG Super Speciality Hospital in Sector-10, Greater Noida (West), on March 5, 2026. The hospital was founded by 1983 Cricket World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev and industrialist Sunil Kumar Gupta. It marks a major step in expanding tertiary healthcare access across the National Capital Region.

A Hospital Built on Trust and Compassion
Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Adityanath stressed that healthcare services must be accessible, affordable, and trustworthy for the common person. He made his point with a vivid cricket analogy. He said that when Kapil Dev stepped onto the field to bowl, the Pakistan team would often feel half-defeated before the match began. Similarly, if doctors treat patients with confidence and a positive approach, half the illness is cured at that very moment.
Adityanath said, “I congratulate you on behalf of the state government for this KDSG Super-Specialty Hospital and extend my best wishes. Today, PM Modi has done a lot in the field of healthcare, and every sector is touching new heights of development. That should be our effort as well.”
Kapil Dev expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and said that every effort would be made to live up to the trust placed by the government and establish a new benchmark in healthcare through this institution. He added that the hospital would play an important role in taking Uttar Pradesh’s name to both national and international levels.
As stated in the official press release, Kapil Dev said: “KDSG was founded on the belief that healthcare services should be ideal, accessible, and completely patient-centric. Greater Noida needed an institution that operates on these values, and today we are proud to have made it a reality.”
What the Hospital Offers
Built at a cost of around Rs 200 crore, the 300-bed KDSG Super Speciality Hospital is equipped with several modern facilities. The hospital will offer advanced services in cardiology, oncology, and neurology, along with high-tech surgical capabilities. It also features modular operation theatres, multi-speciality ICUs, a catheterization laboratory, a dedicated emergency and trauma centre, and advanced diagnostics including nuclear medicine.

The hospital will be managed by Ajinkya DY Patil Healthcare. The chief minister said the hospital would be run in collaboration with the DY Patil Group, an education and healthcare institution based in Maharashtra, whose experience would benefit residents of Gautam Buddh Nagar and neighbouring districts.
Jobs and Economic Impact
The hospital is expected to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for nearly 1,000 people in the region. These include doctors, nursing staff, technicians, and administrative personnel. The Chief Minister also invited the KDSG Group to consider expanding into medical education.
Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh has significantly expanded its medical education infrastructure. “Before 2017, only 17 medical colleges were operational in the state. Today, we have about 81 medical colleges and are close to achieving the goal of ‘one district, one medical college’ across all 75 districts,” he said.
Ayushman Bharat: The Healthcare Backbone
The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s flagship health insurance programme as the foundation for inclusive care. The Chief Minister said that the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has emerged as one of the largest healthcare schemes in the country and is benefiting nearly 60 crore people across the nation.
According to official data released in October 2025, more than 42 crore Ayushman cards have been issued since the scheme’s inception, giving India’s poorest households access to treatment across 33,000 empanelled hospitals. Uttar Pradesh leads the country, with over 5.6 crore golden cards already issued. Adityanath also announced that the state has extended Rs 5 lakh cashless health insurance cover to teachers, anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, Shiksha Mitras, instructors, and cooks working in the basic education system.
He added that those not covered under Ayushman Bharat can receive assistance through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, with about Rs 1,300 crore provided in the past year alone to help patients access treatment.
Greater Noida: A Region on the Rise
The hospital launch comes as Gautam Buddh Nagar undergoes rapid economic transformation. The Chief Minister pointed to multiple large infrastructure projects converging in the region. The Noida International Airport is being built near Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar district to handle 12 million passengers annually in Phase 1, growing to 60 to 120 million by 2050 in subsequent phases.
The airport, which has faced multiple deadline revisions, is now aiming to open in April 2026 pending final regulatory clearances.
Mobile manufacturing units and a medical device park are also being developed along the Yamuna Expressway corridor, reinforcing the region’s position as one of India’s fastest-growing industrial zones.
The Chief Minister assured all investors associated with the KDSG project that the state government would extend full cooperation in the areas of healthcare, education, and building a self-reliant India.
