The district administration of Gautam Buddha Nagar has begun large-scale preparations to celebrate Uttar Pradesh Day–2026, scheduled from January 24 to January 26. The event aims to highlight the state’s historical legacy, cultural richness, and development journey while engaging citizens across all sections of society.
Coordination Meeting Chaired by District Magistrate
To ensure smooth planning, District Magistrate Medha Roopam chaired a detailed review and coordination meeting at the Collectorate auditorium. Officers from all concerned departments attended the meeting and discussed execution strategies, timelines, and inter-departmental coordination.
The District Magistrate directed all departments to finalise their action plans promptly and work in close coordination to ensure the success of the celebrations.
Theme: Developed Uttar Pradesh – Developed India
Addressing the officials, the District Magistrate said that Uttar Pradesh Day–2026 will be celebrated on the theme “Developed Uttar Pradesh – Developed India.” As per state government instructions, the main state-level event will take place at Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow.
At the district level, authorities will organise a wide range of cultural, literary, social, and development-focused programmes. These events will provide a dedicated platform to local artists, writers, poets, and cultural institutions.
Exhibitions, Cultural Programmes, and Competitions Planned
The district administration will organise exhibitions, seminars, cultural programmes, and competitions across the district. Officials confirmed that several national and state observances will also be integrated into the celebrations.
These include Youth Day, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti, National Tourism Day, Voters’ Awareness Day, and Republic Day, making the three-day event comprehensive and inclusive.
Focus on ODOP, Startups, and Government Schemes
Special exhibitions will showcase flagship initiatives such as One District–One Product (ODOP), startups, Ease of Doing Business, Mission Shakti, tourism, art and culture, history, and key government welfare schemes.
The district administration will also honour youths, women, farmers, artisans, entrepreneurs, doctors, and other achievers for their outstanding contributions in various fields.
Uttar Pradesh Day More Than a Celebration: DM
The District Magistrate emphasised that Uttar Pradesh Day–2026 is not just a festival, but a meaningful platform to present the state’s identity, pride, and development journey. She urged all departments to work with dedication so the event becomes grand, participatory, and memorable for citizens.
Senior Officials Present at the Meeting
Senior officials present included District Development Officer Shiv Pratap Parmesh, District Social Welfare Officer Satish Kumar, District Inspector of Schools Rajesh Singh, and District Basic Education Officer Rahul Pawar. Officers from the Authority, Municipal Corporation, Nagar Palika, Nagar Panchayat, and other departments also attended the meeting.
