Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath inaugurate five-day show at Greater Noida’s India Expo Centre & Mart
GREATER NOIDA: The India Expo Centre & Mart opened its doors on Thursday to the fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS 2026), bringing together more than 2,400 exhibitors, over 600 international buyers from around 90 countries, and an anticipated five lakh-plus visitors across five days, running from September 25 to 29.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the trade show alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in the presence of ambassadors and senior diplomats from Singapore, Belarus, Vietnam and Japan, MSME Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary, and business delegations from India and overseas.
The show has grown with each edition since its 2023 launch, when 1,914 exhibitors and 400 foreign buyers took part under an inauguration by President Droupadi Murmu. Last year’s edition, opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, drew over 2,400 exhibitors and 500-plus foreign buyers from more than 75 countries. This year’s edition spans agriculture, automobiles and EVs, defence, electronics and IT, food processing, textiles and handicrafts, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, tourism, renewable energy, logistics, education, financial services and emerging technologies.

In his address, Shah called Uttar Pradesh the “heartbeat” of India’s economic growth, citing its consumer market, young workforce, agricultural strength and expanding manufacturing base, along with the state’s growing network of expressways, industrial corridors and the Noida International Airport. Tracing UPITS’s evolution, he said the first edition had introduced Uttar Pradesh; the second had helped the world understand it; the third had invited wider participation; and “the fourth is about contributing directly to Uttar Pradesh’s growth.” He also pointed to the state’s defence corridor, noting that India’s defence production has reached roughly ₹1.78 lakh crore, with exports to around 80 countries.
Adityanath said UPITS reflects Uttar Pradesh’s changing development journey, connecting district-level talent with global demand and MSMEs with investment. He put the state’s exports at approximately ₹2 lakh crore and noted that more than 600 international buyers from over 90 countries were participating this year. The Chief Minister also launched the portal for the One District One Cuisine (ODOC) initiative, which brings the state’s culinary diversity into the marketplace, describing Uttar Pradesh as “a state that does not merely speak of possibilities, but delivers results.” Chaudhary highlighted the state’s more than one crore MSME units, describing UPITS as a mechanism to expand market access, investment, and employment for district-based enterprises and artisans.
International engagement centred on six partner countries on day one, with more than 280 overseas buyers taking part alongside the Chief Minister’s bilateral meetings with visiting delegations. A Russia-India Business Dialogue, addressed by Trade Commissioner Andrey Sobolev and Deputy Trade Commissioner Evgeny Griva of the Russian Trade Representation, focused on industrial technologies, diagnostics and medical oxygen systems. A parallel Vietnam programme on innovation, technology and tourism featured Ambassador Trinh Minh Manh and representatives from Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet and Vingroup, followed by a Vietnamese food festival and cultural performance.
Alongside the ODOP pavilion showcasing district-level crafts, the show featured CM YUVA exhibits by young entrepreneurs and participation by around 300 women representatives over the five-day event. The opening day closed with a cultural programme of folk and classical performances by artistes from across the state.
UPITS 2026 continues at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida until September 29.
