At a Rajasthan Day event in Jaipur, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced that the state government has disbursed ₹11.45 crore as viability gap funding to selected startups. These ventures were chosen after detailed evaluation by the state-run Bhamashah Techno Hub, ensuring that only viable and scalable ideas received backing.
Funding Aimed at Early-Stage Challenges
The funding focuses on startups that often struggle in their early stages due to limited access to capital. Viability gap funding is designed to bridge this exact gap, helping startups stabilise operations and move toward sustainable growth.
Chief Minister Sharma explained the intent clearly, stating that the government aims to support startups with strong ideas but financial constraints in their initial phases. He emphasised that the goal is to help them grow, scale, and eventually attract private investment.
Officials highlighted that the supported startups span multiple sectors, including technology, manufacturing, services, and social enterprises. The broader objective is not just innovation but also job creation and local economic development.
Focus on Job Creation and Youth Empowerment
The funding announcement came alongside a major skill development initiative. Over 9,400 youths were awarded skill certificates under government-backed training programmes aimed at improving employability and aligning workforce skills with industry needs.
Speaking at the event, Sharma underlined the importance of bridging the gap between education and employment. He noted that equipping youth with relevant skills is essential for long-term economic growth.
He also reiterated the government’s vision of transforming job seekers into job creators. According to him, youth is the “biggest strength” of the state and will play a central role in achieving the goal of a developed Rajasthan and India.

The startup funding aligns with broader measures outlined in Rajasthan’s 2026–27 budget. The state government has introduced several initiatives aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship and skill development.
Key announcements include interest-free loans for 5,000 tribal youth under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana to promote self-employment. Additionally, the government plans to establish the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Global Centre for Advanced Skilling in Jaipur and set up ICT labs in 50 polytechnic colleges to improve technical education infrastructure.
These initiatives are designed to create a supportive ecosystem where startups can emerge, grow, and contribute to the economy.
